Pleated Tote from Ellen Baker’s terrific (and free—thank you, Ellen!) tutorial, http://thelongthread.com/?p=10690 . Used fabrics from Joel Dewberry’s Aviary 2 collection: http://www.hawthornethreads.com/fabric/designer/joel_dewberry/aviary_2/ironwork_in_granite and http://www.hawthornethreads.com/fabric/designer/joel_dewberry/aviary_2/bloom_in_granite

Whipped up a quick asterisk quilt block this evening. Following along Craftsy’s awesome (and free!!!) block of the month class with Amy Gibson. http://www.craftsy.com/
I’m using prints from the Canning Day collection from Connecting Threads with classic Kona Snow (Robert Kauffman) as a background. (The red print above is called Mason Jars in tomato.) I may add in some other prints as the quilt progresses, as I plan a scrappy look. Pressing the seams open may have not been the best for this block due to the bulk in the middle.

Just finished sewing up this cute little fox. My first project using paper piecing! It was great fun once I got the hang of it. Great pattern from Sonja, http://artisania.wordpress.com/. Now, I need to hunt down (or stitch up) some eyes.

Christmas decorations from this year turned out rather nicely. Sadly, it’s time to take down them down now.
